Well, hopefully Erik Marcus is right in pointing out that a lot of those by-products are mostly used because they are cheap and plentiful (because they'd otherwise go to waste), and if factory farming was eliminated and those by-products were no longer as cheap, they'd largely be replaced by cheaper alternatives.

not to mention a vegan is not defined as someone who doesn't use any animal biproducts. its trying your hardest to limit the greatest amount of cruelty.

This list is really outdated. There are many, non-animal-byproduct ingredients that are now used instead (I hear Elmer's Glue is vegan, just as one popular example).
