Since becoming a vegan, I'm amazed at how misinformed so many really intelligent people are about what vegan means. Here are some choice comments and questions that have been made to me recently. Share yours! - Vegan? But you eat salmon, yes?
- We ordered you a plain cheese pizza as you're vegan.
- I'm 100% vegan except I just love hotdogs at the ball game when I go with my son!
- I was raised vegetarian, and became vegan in my early 20s when I gave up fish. Now I only eat eggs and cheese.
- Oh, you should have said you were a vegan! I'd have used cream rather than chicken stock in the soup.
There are more too!

When I was vegetarian people had trouble "getting it" so my husband got into the habit of telling people "my wife is VEGAN!" just to make things clearer.  I still get the "so you don't eat chicken...or beef...or fish...or....or...or....?" How friggin retarded are you people??? OMG and how many times is the same brain-dead person gonna offer me pizza or cheese-anything?? Everytime I clearly state "no, I'm vegan and do not consume animals or animal products." If the puzzled look remains on their face for too long I clarify "cheese comes from an animal" (STUPID!). *smacks self on forhead*

I wish that being vegan meant that the only thing I DIDN'T eat is red meat. Explaining myself would be so much easier!
