what the fuck is up with real food daily?! omnivores seem to love this place, and to the uninitiated, it's THE place to get vegan food in los angeles.

i have had some good meals there, but the service lately has been crap and the place is just unpleasant.

i really want to try their brunch, but after our last few bad experiences, i don't think i can ever get mr. meaner to go there again.

they've been really crap lately. Food and service has been on a steep decline while prices have skyrocketed. They must still think they are the only game in town.

they, like swingers beverly, also have a douche GM.

I haven't been in a few months. The staff is douchey, but so are most restaurant staffs on La Cienega. I don't think you can go wrong with the nachos and the reuben (side of caesar salad), but the rest of the stuff I've tried is kinda meh. And I think the caesar dressing at Pure Luck is better. I need to try more vegan reubens.

I went to RFD last night and I think I'm over it too. I got the regular stuff I always get - the nachos and a reuben with a side of caesar. I had barely any dressing on my salad. The reuben was okay, but had too much kraut. I guess when I first went there, I was only used to going to vegan thai places, so getting sandwiches and nachos was awesome. But now there are so many better restaurants, like Pure Luck.

I'm on my way up to Simi Valley today, and on the way back I'm finally going to Follow Your Heart to get a reuben.

I work at the SaMo RFD, and I must say, I love it. I love the communal tables and the big menu and the cashew cheese. We have some really great cakes right now, too. Most of the people working the counters (where I work) are very nice, though there are a few snobs. I prefer the food at Pure Luck and M Cafe, but I think RFD is pretty good if you're willing to spend a little money. I guess I'm a little biased, though!

the SaMo location is vastly different & superior in food prep and service than the WeHo. Please tell me if the Bakery in Samo uses the same kitchen as the regular side. I seem to get better food on the regular side. WeHo used to have some quality people about 2 to 3 years ago, but they are gone. Samo has retained a lot of familiar faces over the years.

A lot of the SaMo people have been there for a couple of years, which I find impressive at a restaurant. All the bakery stuff is brought in by a pastry chef each morning. And I'm glad to hear we're superior, cause I heard a lot of bad stuff about RFD before I started working there, and I still don't really understand it! But yeah, I haven't been to the WeHo RFD.

I've been to both We Ho and SM many times for meetings and such, never by choice, and I haven't had a good meal there. It's not much better than cafeteria food and very inconsistent at that. Whenever I meet someone who actually likes this place, I hate to admit it, but they lose credibility with me.
