i know it's awful...but sometimes, as much as we don't want to, we have to go out to eat with people who eat meat. parents, co-workers, friends, etc...a lot of them are omnivores.
what is the best restaurant to take someone who eats flesh, where you can get a nice vegan meal as well.
in los angeles i'm thinking hugo's, o!burger, swingers, or ethiopian.

CPK is relatively vegan friendly. You can find a list of vegan specific options on their website: http://209.85.173.132/search?q=cache:ee ... =firefox-a

Native Foods (everyone I take LOVES it there!) or Veggie Grill (bleck! personally I prefer seeing pro-animal posters & paraphanalia all over the place when I eat). Hugo's Tacos is also good as both meat & vegan options are readily available. I have yet to visit the Hugo's Restaurant, can't get enough of the taco stand. Quote: CPK is relatively vegan friendly. Agreed, CPK is pretty awesomelly accomodating for vegan diets when suggesting a "vegetarian/vegan" restaurant might be a little much for some onmi's. Indian food is always a hit too if your dining company is into that.

I have taken many of my omni friends and even my mother to this place called one world, in west covina, they loved it! It has no meat options but the food is so well prepared that it really doesn't matter, so I would very much suggest it. Plus they have a variety of different styles of food and their deserts are amazing as well.

They cater events for Animal Acres and various places. They have an all-vegan buffet on the second Wednesday of every month (new hours are 4:30-8:30pm) for $7.95 per person. They advertise this as a great way to introduce your non veggie friends & family to vegetarian food. It's a great sampling of what's on their regular menu with the comfort and familiarity of buffet-style dining. Great option for omni's or veg-friendly folks. And they have dessert specials in the display case so we always grab a couple of desserts to go. My husband & I are pretty much "regulars" at this place now. And each month we bring more & more vegetarian & vegan friends with us.

One place I like to take my meat eating parents to is Cafe Graikos "Greek and Vegetarian" cuisine. It's in the Valley, at the north end of Northridge next to the Whole Foods. They make delicious and authentic Greek food and most of the vegetarian specialties already are or can be made vegan. It's a nice family run place. http://www.toliveandeatinla.com/2007/ve ... greek_food
